Overview
Wonderful Jainism ("we", "us", "our") provides a website and mobile app for accessing Jain spiritual content — pravachans, bhajans, scripture, Pathshala lessons, a community directory, and an AI chatbot. This policy explains what information we collect through the app and website, and how it is used.
No Account Required
You do not need to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email, or phone number to browse content, watch videos, listen to bhajans, or use the chatbot. We do not collect personal profile information from app or website visitors.
Microphone Access (Voice Questions)
The app requests microphone access only so you can ask the AI chatbot a question by voice instead of typing. Audio is captured only while you are actively recording a question, is used solely to generate a response, and is not stored or linked to your identity after the response is generated. You can decline microphone access and still use the chatbot by typing.
AI Chatbot — Data Sharing with Third-Party AI Services
The app includes an AI chatbot that generates responses from our library of video transcripts and Jain spiritual texts. When you use the chatbot:
What data is shared: Your chat question (whether typed or spoken via voice input) is sent to our backend, and then forwarded to a third-party AI model provider.
Which AI services may receive your data: Depending on how we configure the app, your question may be sent to one or more of the following:
- Euri (api.euron.one) — an OpenAI-compatible gateway for open-weight and proprietary AI models
- Google Generative Language API (Gemini) — Google's large language model
- OpenRouter (openrouter.ai) — a multi-provider API gateway providing access to 400+ models
- Cerebras (api.cerebras.ai) — an inference service using Cerebras' wafer-scale hardware
Data retention: Chat messages are not stored with any personal identifier by Wonderful Jainism. Each AI provider has their own privacy policy governing how long they retain your request data; you can review their policies directly.
IP address logging: To prevent abuse (e.g. spam or excessive automated requests), we temporarily record the IP address of incoming requests for short-term rate limiting; this is not used for tracking or profiling and is not retained long-term.
Location
The "Current Location" feature shows the current touring location of the Acharya/Muni — this is information we publish about their itinerary, not your device's location. The app does not access or track your device's GPS location.
Push Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app registers a device push token (via Apple/Google's push notification services) so we can send announcements — such as a session going live or new content being added. This token is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal identifier, and is only used to deliver these notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in the app's Settings or your device's system settings.
Community Directory
The Community section displays publicly shared contact details (such as phone numbers) of community creators and coordinators, provided directly to us for the purpose of being listed. This is not information collected from app visitors.
Analytics & Tracking
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in the app.
Third-Party Services
Video content is served via YouTube; some pages may embed or link to YouTube videos, which are subject to Google's own privacy policy. Our backend infrastructure (hosting, database, and AI inference) is provided by third-party service providers who process data solely to operate the app on our behalf, under their own security and confidentiality obligations.
Children's Privacy
Some content (such as Pathshala lessons) is designed to be suitable for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, as the app does not require accounts or personal details from any user.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the app evolves. Continued use of the app or website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
